History & Achievements

The Torbay Hi Tech Forum began in 2010 as the Torbay Electronics Forum, focusing solely on the electronics and photonics sector. This was expanded in January 2011, when members saw the benefits of working collaboratively with other leading edge technology-driven businesses across Torbay and the surrounding South Devon area.

In the last few years the Forum has grown considerably, now representing more than a thousand employees in over 30 businesses, discussing and campaigning on important issues such as the Electronics and Photonics Innovation Centre and South Devon Link Road. As well as contributing to positive change within the industry, such as involvement with InnovateUK the Forum also works to promote the sector on a local and national level by staging events such as the annual MTI exhibition which showcase talent, success and innovation.
