About the Network
Formed in 2013 and organised by Torbay Development Agency with support from UK Trade & Investment, the South Devon Export Network is a platform for local, like minded business people to meet four times a year to exchange information and knowledge about trading internationally.
Who is it aimed at?
The Export Network is aimed at both companies currently exporting, and those who are looking to start or thinking about exporting.
If you are in a business manufacturing products or providing services, you are warmly invited to attend our meetings, to enjoy and make use of the presentations and to network with like minded people.
What does it do?
The SDEN provides advice, information and guidance for all levels of companies who currently are, or thinking about trading overseas. It provides real life case studies, presentations on new markets and how to do business in them along with the opportunity to informally talk and share experiences with other businesses.
What is the format of the meetings?
- The SDEN follows the same format for each meeting it includes:
- A presentation on products and services that can help your business export
- A market presentation – This will focus on a particular country and provide and will provide useful information, advice and guidance on that market and the best way to do business over there.
- UK Trade and Investment update – A brief presentation from UKTI on the latest support and events which is available to companies exporting abroad.
- A case study presentation – A presentation from a company sharing their real life experiences of exporting – including the good, the bad and the ugly!
- The presentations will then be followed by refreshments and a buffet along with the opportunity to business network and talk with the presenters.
Why should I attend?
It is free and a great way to meet new business contacts, get free advice and guidance and learn new things which can help grow your business, increase your customer base and grow your sales.
