TDA helps ProtechMedia expand

Paignton based ProtechMedia is expanding and looking to take on new staff, helped by Torbay Council and the Torbay Development Agency (TDA) through its South West Innovation Centres.

ProtechMedia, which specialises in website design, corporate branding and marketing, says moving into the Vantage Point Innovation Centre in Paignton run by Torbay Council’s economic development company, TDA, was the best move the company has made since it formed in 1996.

“From a work point of view, it’s helped us become better known and allowed us to take on many new national clients since we’ve been here” said owner Steve Flanders. “We do a lot of work with Peter Andre and Michael Andre and have just completed a new site for Amy Childs from the Only Way is Essex. We’re very busy at the moment and are looking to take on a new developer.”

He added: “Most website companies in Devon work from home so we’re very lucky to have the facilities and benefits of Vantage Point. Having the Innovation Centre as an address definitely helps us gain clients, not just locally but from across the UK.”

And he said the company has just started working for an energy recycling company in Scotland and for CAN Associates, Peter Andre’s management company together with being on the verge of signing a major fitness centre.

The South West Innovation Centres are operated by TDA on behalf of the Council to provide incubation space for new and growing businesses.

The TDA manage four Innovation Centres in Paignton, Torquay, Ivybridge and Cockington, providing office/desk space to small businesses from as little as £128pcm inclusive of gas, electricity, water, telephone/broadband rental and business rates.
