TDA launches 'Torbay Touchdown'

Torbay Council's economic development company, Torbay Development Agency (TDA) and key local support partners are geared up to deliver Torbay Touchdown, a pioneering initiative designed to attract investment by differentiating Torbay's offer over other locations.

Accessed through the TDA and supported by a select group of local businesses, the initiative is designed to help new investors tap into a trusted network of organisations who can offer support to ease the transition to the Bay. If you run a business in the South Devon area, and are interested in providing assistance to investors as part of the programme, please call Jason Buck, TDA's Investment Development Manager on 01803 208799 or email .

Alternatively, companies outside the area looking to find out more, or access the programme, can also contact Jason for details.

The aim is to make Torbay's investment offer go the extra mile by offering investors access to a unique range of free professional advice and services, including support with accounting; property services; web development; recruitment; and banking.

The programme was officially launched on April 24, at the TDA's Southwest Innovation Centres in Paignton. Member companies came together to understand in more detail Torbay?s investment offer, and find out how the programme will assist overall inward investment efforts.

Mayor of Torbay, Gordon Oliver said: 'This superb new initiative helps place Torbay firmly on the map as a leading UK destination for investment. With big enhancements to our transportation network coming soon in the form of the new South Devon Link Road, and now a dedicated group designed to closely support our potential investors, Torbay's offer is set to become a cut above the rest.'

Jason Buck, Investment Development Manager of Torbay Development Agency said: 'Torbay Touchdown demonstrates the strength in depth support by local companies in ensuring we attract inward investment to Torbay.'

'The joined-up welcoming approach that we are demonstrating will show investors that together, we are all serious about economic growth and employment in Torbay. It also provides the investor company with an immediate opportunity to access established networks and the wider business community.'
