Budget 2011
Have your say about how the council will spend its budget next year.
We are expecting to have a large reduction in the amount of money we will receive from central government following the autumn spending review.  We would like to know how you, our residents, would like us to meet this challenge by using the budget simulator to adjust our projected budget based on the money we have spent this year and the money we think will be available next year.
Visit our budget simulator page if you would like to see some of the comments made by other residents

Licensing Policy Review
Torbay Council’s Licensing Policy is a legal requirement that has to be written and reviewed every three years. This was last renewed on 7 January 2008.
It is being reviewed again and out for public consultation for 12 weeks finishing on 27 October 2010.

27 October 2010

We are now consulting on the Regulation 27 Pre-Submission Publication version of the Torquay Harbour Area Action Plan (THAAP).
The THAAP will provide the framework for development and regeneration in the Harbour area. It covers the period up to 2026 and seeks to improve the quality of the built environment and tackle weaknesses in a number of areas. The Plan sets out a clear vision for the future of the harbour area, a set of supporting objectives and a range of development proposals and policies. It includes a strategy for the Plan’s implementation and for monitoring its delivery. We would encourage you to make your representations on this critical stage of the Area Action Plan by using our on-line ‘Limehouse’ consultation website.

Refreshed Local Torbay Compact - Consultation
The Torbay Compact - This agreement between statutory bodies and the voluntary and community sector in Torbay is being updated and rewritten. The new draft Torbay Compact is going out for consultation. The document sets out the terms for a working relationship between local government, NHS organisations, the police, fire service etc and the third sector; now with the change of government, becoming known as the civil society.
The Compact has existed nationally since 1998, and in Torbay, the first local Compact was drawn up in 2004. It is now being refreshed, taking many of the principles of a newly-drawn up national Compact. However, what local organisations think is of course paramount, so a 12-week consultation period is underway. Please take a little time to view the draft document, which was endorsed by the Torbay Strategic Partnership on May 27th.
Your initial feedback would be very welcome. Please follow this link to a very brief response form (word document) Please email your response to
