Completion Date: August 2010
Work has been completed on Paignton's new library and community centre in Station Lane. The two storey, 2,245 square metre building opened in September 2010.
The building provides a new state-of –the art library to replace the previous facility in Courtland Road.
The project was funded by the Big Lottery Fund and Torbay Council and incorporates centralised facilities for a number of agencies including community police, Connections, adult and community learning as well as office accommodation for SureStart
Prior to the commencement of construction the site had been used as a long stay car park, however the new building has been designed to reflect the earlier history of the site when it was used as a railway and goods yard.
