    Nominations for the South Devon Skills Awards 2012 are now open. Learners, training providers and employers from across Torbay, Teignbridge and South Hams are invited to nominate colleagues in one of 12 award categories.

  • 13/12/2011 Cockington project wins a UK Property Award for Best Architecture
    The renovation project at Cockington Court, incorporating new craft studios and innovation centre, has won the UK Property Awards Commercial Renovation/Redevelopment Award in the Best Architecture category. The scheme was designed by Torquay based architects Kay Elliott, on behalf of the Torbay Development Agency and Torbay Council.

  • 13/12/2011 Torquay Innovation Centre set to benefit from better Broadband
    Torbay Development Agency’s Innovation Centre at Lymington Road in Torquay has had a £50,000 upgrade to its broadband connectivity to provide 100 Megabyte download speed for its tenants. This offers even better facilities to help new start up businesses, and is only likely to be matched by the broadband supply at its other Centre at South Devon College in Paignton.

    Kier Western has been chosen as the preferred contractor, subject to contract, for the £4.7m phase two restoration of Torre Abbey Historic House following a £2.8m grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund for this Torbay Council owned and operated visitor attraction.
