The Asset Management Service within the Torbay Development Agency (TDA) 'the Service' offers a comprehensive professional service relating to the management of assets.
Working with Property Services within the TDA this can include both the corporate/strategic overview and on-going estate management of these assets to ensure that all assets are identified, fit for purpose, in good condition, used efficiently, held at lowest cost and, where appropriate, that they provide a good return on investment.
Estate Management
The Service can provide a professional service for the management of land and property asset portfolios by maximising value and revenue whilst facilitating the operational requirements of its clients, including the acquisition and disposal of assets and reducing annual property revenue costs.
All valuers within the Service are members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors with many years of experience working in the locality.
Asset Management Plan
The Service can provide an Asset Management Plan (AMP) for its clients with it describing the client’s policies for developing its land and property assets in order to sustain and improve service delivery, and demonstrates how capital investment is directed in support of the delivery of the client’s priorities.
Working in partnership
The Service works on behalf of the Council with partner organisation such as the Torbay Care Trust, Devon & Cornwall Police and Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service to ensure joint strategic planning of assets embracing 'the Total Place' agenda.
Data Management
The Service can work with clients to ensure that the information the client holds about it’s assets is accurate and up to date.
The team has the ability to maintain an asset database with all relevant information relating to a particular asset including, amongst other matters, details of any leases / licences, condition, asbestos and legionella surveys. This assists with the preparation of the client’s Asset Management Plan and Capital Strategy.
On behalf of Torbay Council the team provides advice to Council departments, Members and the general public about land ownership issues relating to Council assets.
The team can also provide plans (including CAD drawings) for use in publications, documents and legal agreements.
Office opening hours; 9.00 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Thursday, 9.00 am to 4.00 pm on Friday.
