A new business, Riviera Occupational Services Limited, has set up in the last available unit in Bishops Place, Paignton.

Operating from the Paignton Enterprise Centre, the training company is positioned in an area where it can contract its services to the care homes, care agencies, Local Authority Social Services and the NHS, across Torbay and South Devon.

Torbay Council’s Elected Mayor and Executive Lead for Finance and Regeneration, Gordon Oliver, said: “It is great to see a business like Riviera Occupational Services identifying the opportunities that are available in Torbay. The recent demand for office space across Torbay has been fantastic, and having all the units let at Bishops Place demonstrates the willingness for new and expanding companies to invest here. There are a number of key sectors in the region which are strengthening and experiencing growth, creating ideal investment opportunities.”

Kevin Briggs of Riviera Occupational Services Limited has 10 years experience as an Occupational Therapist within Social Services and has been working as a Moving and Handling advisor for 5 years.

Kevin said: “Torbay is a great location for the business as it provides great connections across the care sector here. Our work will enhance the lives of people with a wide range of conditions, working closely with the NHS and Social Services.”

With support from Torbay Council and the TDA Investment and Estate teams, Kevin has been identifying how to move his business forward and reach its potential from its new base.

Kevin is looking to have the business fully operational by October 2016. It will primarily focus on assessing and advising individuals who need equipment or adaptations in their homes to live their lives to the full. The company will also provide training care agencies, residential homes and private clients who move and handle patients.

With offices at Tor Hill House, Torquay and Brixham Sea Works there is still space available for new and expanding companies to take advantage of business opportunities in Torbay. Premises can been seen by visiting
