New workshop for Pop up Shop retailer NoboJacs

4th November 2016

Jackie Viney, owner of handmade soft furnishings and curtain business, NoboJacs, has taken the next step in developing her business.

Jackie took her home business to the next stage this autumn as she celebrated the opening of her new workshop above Torquay’s Market Forum.

Pop up the High Street, which gives retailers the chance to gain a real life experience of retailing on Torquay high street, provided Jackie with the opportunity to test her products on the high street earlier this year.

Cllr Richard Haddock, Torbay’s Executive Lead for Business, said: “Once again the Pop up Shop has provided a business with an opportunity to experience the high street, proving successful and leading to the business taking up a permanent retail space in Torbay. The support this project provides local retailers keeps more traders in our town centres and provides a foundation to Torbay’s high street regeneration.”

Jackie said: “After being contacted by the pop up team, I jumped at the opportunity to test the high street. I was nervous, but the experience was great fun, and I learnt so much about by business. The free business advice was invaluable – always brilliantly supportive, helpful and friendly.”

Jackie is now looking forward to developing the made to measure curtain element of her business after gaining more confidence from her Pop up retail experience.
