Herald Express Business of the Year award winners Lockabox find everything they need to successfully run their business at the Torbay Work Hubs.
Peter Morris, who also scooped the Young Entrepreneur of the year award at this year’s South Devon Business Excellence awards, has taken advantage of TDA’s retail regeneration project Pop Up the High Street and now uses The Works.
Peter said: “Having run Lockabox from a Caravan for a year it got to the point where we started to need an office space. We were lucky enough to get an opportunity to trial our products in the Popup the High Street shop and through that we found out about the Torquay Harbour Works and the Brixham Sea Works.
“We decided that we would try the Sea Works in Brixham and signed up to the ‘Anytime Works’ package for a month. The workspaces are great; they have a nice modern and spacious feeling to them and are well equipped. Having access to a large and small meeting room allows us to host professional business meetings without the expense of taking on large premises.”
The Works are fully equipped, with access to high speed broadband, printing and postal services plus meeting room space and the opportunity to receive support and advice from a fully accredited Business Advisor. With a coordinator on hand throughout the week to facilitate the work space and provide a personal touch, many businesses are introduced to companies and individuals they can work with and do business together.
Peter continued: “Brixham Sea Works is managed by Nicki, who is really supportive and full of great ideas on who to speak to for this and what to do about that and she always seems to present us with biscuits at just the right time.
“Using the workspaces has been so beneficial to us we’ve decided to sign up and take on one of the small serviced offices that the TDA have to offer.”
The Works is a modern space that lends itself to collaborative working and provides a flexible working option in a relaxed environment for remote workers, home workers and employees looking for a private space to work in.
The Harbour Works and Seaworks will be open to non-members between 9am and 4pm on Thursday 1 and Friday 2 December, so why not come and see what’s on offer?
