Business taking flight at Exeter Airport

Entrepreneurs, investors and business travellers are being urged to take advantage of an initiative to consolidate the South West’s vital economic link with London and the wider national and international markets.

State of the art new business facilities at Exeter Airport have created a dynamic working hub for entrepreneurs and investors doing business in the South West.

The free service - providing business travellers from the capital with on site meeting facilities, WiFi and catering - enables travellers to slash journey times from London, providing a businesslike venue and acting as an express gateway to the region.

Creating an effective working environment for business travellers to the area, the quiet and secure facility enables visitors to arrange and conduct meetings within the airport itself - removing the need for unnecessary onward travel and saving valuable time.

London-based businesses can fly to Exeter with Flybe from City Airport, conduct meetings within the hub and return the same day while slashing a total of up to two hours from their journeys.

Matt Roach of Exeter International Airport said: “The initial reaction to the new executive facilities has been encouraging. The new executive centre was designed to make it fast, affordable and easy for London-based companies to do business here, and the feedback so far indicates a great deal of potential demand.

“However, building upon the economic success of the initiative, and ultimately adding new business routes and facilities, will depend upon the uptake going forward. I would suggest that anyone who understands the need to enable faster connections between Exeter and the Capital should visit the airport or give us a call to find out how we can help make it happen.”

Business travellers using Exeter Airport can enjoy the comfort of the new Executive Lounge from 23rd February.

Located on the second floor of the terminal with panoramic views over the runway, the lounge offers free Wi-Fi, complimentary teas, coffees and alcoholic beverages, plus newspapers and magazines in a relaxed and comfortable setting away from the hustle and bustle of the terminal building.

Access to the Lounge is free for passengers travelling on Flybe’s twice-daily Exeter to London City service. London City passengers already enjoy preferential parking nearest the terminal building, and fast-track security clearance.

As well as London City, the last year has seen a number of enhanced services from Exeter Airport for business travellers including the return of the popular Newcastle route and extra flights to Manchester. Exeter also offers direct flights to Amsterdam, Paris and Dublin.

Exeter Airport is working with the region’s business community through an initiative called Exeter Connects to enhance the connectivity of the far South West and add value to business travellers.
