Mechanical Building Services Engineer
Full time, permanent (37 hours per week)
£28,636 - £30,851 per annum
About the role
Torbay Development Agency is seeking a hard working and motivated Mechanical Building Services Engineer to join our Property Services Team in providing an effective and efficient support service. Along with the design, construction and maintenance of mechanical services in buildings and public spaces, you will be responsible for carrying out surveys and preparing reports and estimates. You will also proactively liaise with Architects, Building Surveyors, Contract Managers and the Councils Energy Manager on relevant projects, looking to maintain high industry standards and achieve a carbon efficient outcome.
About you
Along with a relevant qualification (such as BTEC HNC in Mechanical Building Services Engineering, or City & Guilds Level 4 Higher Professional Diploma in Mechanical Building Services Engineering), you’ll be able to demonstrate knowledge of modern practice in Building Services Engineering. You’ll have excellent communication and organisation skills, the ability to work to deadlines, and will be IT proficient. As well as experience in building services engineering design, you’ll be up-to-date with current legislation, and ideally have CIBSE membership.

As a Finance Administrator for Torbay Development Agency you will be involved in overseeing the management and development of several Innovation Centres designed to be starter units for new businesses in Torbay. You will be responsible for working up and implementing financial budgets and cash flow forecasts for these units, from creating the documents, inputting the data through to monitoring the figures to achieve best net income generation and outcomes for the units.
You will be a key player in the Business Services team, leading on initiatives to oversee and follow through to best outcomes for our Innovation Centres . You will take a positive and innovative approach to development in the Bay. A secondary outcome of the post will be to provide assistance to other team members in particular primary or back up support for claims submitted to outside agencies and the provision of the financial returns required of a trading Company.
